Pulau Tioman in G12
Revisted good ol' Tioman on RB's Canon G12 maiden dive into the deep blue. Been some time since we did the whole ardous bus to mersing, late night ferry to Tioman and diving at dawn routine. I'm getting old I tell you, my body feels it, the lack of sleep seems so much more taxing now. However, it was worth it just to jump back into the deep blue and visit this alternate world that I've been missing for so long.
Even though there were no surprises like the Whale Shark we saw in Anambas the previous trip, we still saw numerous nudie branches, turtle, bluespotted stingrays, urchins, pufferfish, boxfish, eels, and the other usual marine life. HOWEVER, I feel that the corals and volume of marine life seemed to have deteriorated some how. I sincerely hope that while we get to continue diving here, the environment is properly cared for and not exploited for the sake of tourism.
