colourful silly questions - eat drink don't think!
(from e-mail)
---
Why .....do Tesco's make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Why .....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke. Why ....do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.
Why ......do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
Why . .......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering..
EVER WONDER ....
Why the sun lightens our hair,
but darkens our skin ?Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavour, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavoured cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on planes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?
Why? Good question. Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread the stupidity and send this to someone you want to bring a smile to (may be even a chuckle)....in other words, send it to everyone. We all need to smile every once in a while.

These are the nights that make me wish I can play ball till I am 50. These are the nights that make me wana buy a pair of trainers and go jogging again. These are the nights that I remember the saying "You get strong to play bball. You don't play bball to get strong". These are the nights I wish I could shoot hoops every night. These are Jordan nights.

Nice Idea on Loansharks
How To Get Rid of Loan sharks and Opposition Politicians.
-->I was reading this blog about how this poor woman is being harassed by loan sharks. Despite numerous reports and calls to the police, nothing seems to be working as the loan sharks are still harassing the poor woman. Apparently loan sharks have some kind of magical powers that renders them immune to the police and our laws.
And its not as if this is a recent phenomenon. Hell, this shit has been going on for decades. I remember in my old place, walls and lift landings used to be decorated on a weekly basis by artistic loan sharks. Come to think of it, its happening quite often in my new place as well. When was the last time you see a loan shark getting arrested for vandalism? If Michael Fay had been a loan shark, he would’ve spared his butt a few whippings
Remember how SingPost got into trouble with their latest campaign/ publicity stunt. Instead of hiring some fancy assed ad agency to “vandalized” their post-boxes, what they should have done was borrow money from the loan sharks. I am sure the loan sharks would’ve gladly vandalized those post boxes for free. And what’s more, loan sharks have natural immunity against police investigations- unlike fancy assed ad agencies. Win-win situation I’d say.
Anyway, in a separate blog, there’s news about that pesky Dr Chee Soon Juan getting into trouble with the law.
Again.
Dr Chee seems to attract police like flies to shit.
So here’s my brilliant solution to everything-
1. Make all loan sharks register as a political party. Very soon, they will either end up on extended 32 year vacations on Sentosa Island where they can loan money to gamblers visiting the Sentosa IR or be made bankrupts. A bankrupt loan shark is a powerless loan shark. After all, how do you lend money at exorbitant interest rates if you don’t have a single cent to your name. He might have to start borrowing money from other loan sharks even.
2. Dr Chee and his political party needs to get into the loan sharking business because the police always likes to tell us they can’t do anything about loan sharks harrassment. Once Dr Chee becomes a loan shark, he automatically acquires level 23 police immunity. Not only will the police not harass him anymore, but loan sharking might actually enable him to make some money on the side so he can repay LKY and Goh Chok Tong for the monetary damages that he still owes them. Not only that, if Dr Chee wants to paint political slogans or stage protests, he can simply go to any HDB block and start painting them on the walls. Loan sharks has been doing it for years without getting arrested. No need to stand in front of CPF building wearing t-shirts. Win-win-win situation.
Sometimes I impress even myself.
January 21st, 2010 | Category: Life | No commentsLions and Pussies
-->“(The ancient saying is) ‘an army of sheep led by a lion is stronger than an army of lions led by a sheep’. In other words, leadership is critical in battles; the leadership qualities, the courage and the ability and getting the team to follow you is crucial.”- Goh Chok Tong
The qualities that one associate with the lion are usually courage, tenacity and nobility. So when Goh Chok Tong made that statement, chances are he is probably referring to himself and the PAP leadership.
The general singaporean population being sheep- well, at least that much is true. As for the leadership being lions…
Recently a Romanian diplomat was implicated in a car accident that resulted in at least one death. Without even assisting the local police in their investigations, the diplomat basically went and hightailed out of a singapore. While investigations are still ongoing and he may or may not be guilty, it would certainly be a great help to have him around for questioning. Unfortunately, he is now safely back in Romania, well beyond the reach of our law.
So has anyone from our government spoke up? Anyone made demands on the romanian government to send back the diplomat to assist in investigations?
Anyone?
Anyone to fight for justice on behalf of the widow of the deceased?
Where’s the so-called lion when you need him? Sleeping perhaps?
And then there’s the news that Lee Kuan Yew finally realized that intelligence does not necessarily translate into a flair for languages. For a long time, despite many complaints from parents, the ministry of education has steadfastly stuck to their 2nd language policy. How many able students were turned away from the local universities because of their poor 2nd language result? How many couldn’t make it the polys or schools of their choice because of the burden of having to learn a 2nd language.
All this time, not once had an minister of education ever questioned the wisdom of the policy despite repeated pleas and complaints from parents. Did anyone spoke up and challenge the policy?
No.
So is this what Goh Chok Tong call lions? Every past and present education minister just accepted it without questioning the merits of the policy simply because it was the decree of the old man. And that the old man has admitted it might be a mistake, once again did anyone from the ministry of education questioned the validity of the assumption? Or did they simply accept it because it came from the mouth of the daughter of the MM?
Lions or pussies?
Remember when Mas Salamat escaped. How long did it take before our PM came forward to addressed the issue. Just slightly under 2 weeks. What was he waiting for? Salamat to give himself up? And when he finally did appear, what did he say? A shrug of the shoulders- the man escaped, what to do?
Lion or pussy?
And it only got better from then onwards as the MM himself shifted the blame to everyone but themselves for the escape of Mas Salamat. Suddenly the man escaped not because of incompetence, but because we were all complacent. I guess on the day he escaped, I should not have turned up for work- instead I should be outside the detention centre waiting to give Salamat a kick in the balls the moment he jumped over the fence.
And all the PAP MPs and ministers- did anyone stood up to denounce the absurdity of the MM’s proclamation? Where were the lions? Who was willing to challenge MM?
Lions or pussies?
Just look at the pathetic P65 blog. How many of the so-called P65 MPs are still blogging on a regular basis? Remember how it started with a bang- how the P65ers were supposed to connect with the new generations. Instead months after it started, it basically fell into neglect and irrelevance. So much for showing tenacity.
Hell, some of them wouldn’t even stand for election unless they could ride the coattails of some heavyweight ministers into parliament.
So is this the kind of leadership of lions that Goh is referring to?
January 20th, 2010 | Category: Life | No commentsSingapore Gahmen Donates the Equivalent of PM’s One Week’s Salary to Haiti
-->Our Singapore Prime Minister is officially the highest paid politician in the world. According to wikipedia he earns an annual salary of $3,870,000 ($2856930 USD) which makes it $238,077.50 USD per month. Given an average month has about 21-22 working days, a week’s salary would fall somewhere in the region of $56,000 USD which is just slightly more than the $50,000 USD the gahmen is donating to Haiti to help in their relief efforts.
Braaaaavo to the gahmen for their shocking display of generosity. If our dear PM and his family of 5 can learn to live on $50,000 for 1 week, I am sure the 300,000 displaced Haitians will be able to make do with the $50,000 the singapore gahmen has so generously donated.
Lest we forget, the gahmen did just lose hundreds of millions on their latest foolhardy property investment. And not that I want to dredge this up, a few years back, Mah Bow Tan also spent $400,000 renaming Marina Bay as Marina Bay, I am sure the gahmen would probably be able to spare another couple of dollars more if he hadn’t done that. But than again its more important that we rename Marina Bay as Marina Bay. Afterall, if we didn’t rename Marina Bay as Marina Bay, than Marina Bay would still be called Marina Bay which will be a shame since Marina Bay sounds so much better than Marina Bay. In the grand scheme of things, the $400,000 spent on renaming Marina Bay as Marina Bay is probably more important that the Haitians. I am sure even Eric How and his forefathers would approve.
But if you still want to think the gahmen is just a fucking stingy bastard you can click here instead.
Gahmen Thinks We Stupid
-->“LTA chief executive Yam Ah Mee said the new gantries are necessary because they form a cordon around the expanded CBD. Without them, motorists will use the new roads there to bypass congestion-priced roads in the city centre, he added.” ST 14th Jan
When the ERP was first implemented, the rationale behind it according to the government was to manage the flow of traffic- to redirect traffic from congested roads to less congested roads, hence the need for ERP gantries to set up along the most heavily used roads.
Now according to LTA- (if I read the above statement correctly) new gantries needs to be set up to catch those diverted traffic.
WTF?!!!!
Gahmen really thinks we stupid.
